With a healthy membership which hovers around the 500 mark each year our cycling club is open to anyone with a passion for cycling.

Based in south west London and extending to the Surrey borders our rides will regularly take you into the lanes of the North Downs or out towards Windsor with our unofficial home being the 7 mile loop of Richmond Park.

The club encourages its members to improve or excel, whether they are children just starting out with our Dynamo Sparks initiative, competitive riders with years of experience or anything in between.

Our Pathway graphic (above) illustrates the broad range of riding, training and racing opportunities we offer our members to transition all the way from junior to senior level.

Through our club rides we pass on the skills, techniques and ethos of racing. So even if you never pin a race number on your back, you will become a better cyclist by riding with us. We also participate in time trials, track, cyclo-cross, mountain bike events and sportives.

Our core discipline is road racing, be that on closed circuits or open road courses. We have a select squad that competes in National B events and our wider membership races at every level, from fourth category to elite.

We have an active and supportive womens section which includes age group national champions — although you needn’t harbour any racing ambitions to enjoy riding with us. Women who would like to take part in our rides should be able to ride four laps of the park (approximately 26 miles in total) at 24 minutes per lap – but don't worry if you fall short of this guide time. If you are keen and keep riding, you should not be far off, and on our group rides you will benefit from drafting which ought to make it easier.

And we have a thriving social scene with club socials throughout the year, popular talks on skills and training, an annual awards night and, of course, those all-important cafe stops. So there is plenty of opportunity to get to know your fellow Dynamos.

Sparks & Juniors

London Dynamo Sparks & Juniors are the Go-Ride (8-14 years) and Juniors (14-18 years) sections of the London Dynamo Club.

For Sparks' riders, we provide balanced and fun training programmes in Ham run by a group of British Cycling Level 2 coaches and volunteer helpers. For Juniors' riders we provide rides and training sessions which include park rides and roller sessions.

At Sparks & Juniors, our aim is to help you reach your goals, whether you want to improve your skills or have a go at track racing, cyclocross, time trialling, sportives or mountain biking.

Our events are listed in our rides and races sections.
