The Mytchett Loop is a slightly longer and hillier alternative heading further south towards Farnborough. After heading to Chobham, the route steadily climbs up to the village for Mytchett for a rolling loop before a generally descending route back to East Molesey.
Starting point: Dish Café, East Molesey.
Suggested café: Frimley Lodge Café, Mytchett (45km).
The Twyford Loop is a variant that rather than heading into Windsor Great Park pushes on a bit further west. In the village of Hurst there is the option to turn left to Dinton Pastures Nature Reserve or turn right towards Twyford to continue the fast loop. At Twyford, the route loops round back through Windsor and ultimately ends up on the same fast return as the Classic Windsor loop.
Starting point: Dish Café, East Molesey.
Optional café: The Dragonfly, Dinton Pastures Country Park (52km).
The Henley Loop is another longer but fast flowing variant that heads to Twyford before heading north through Wargrave and then rejoining the Thames at Henley.
At Henley the route turns right back towards London. After the climb at White Hill, the route is generally on a descending trend until it follows the classic fast flat back to Kingston.
Starting point: Local Hero Café, Kingston.
Optional café: H’Artisan, Wargrave (50km).
The Marlow & Henley Loop is a longer anti-clockwise route criss-crossing the Thames. Taking the north side of the river from Windsor, the route goes through Eton and Dorney.
A fairly steep climb at Cookham is followed by a brief switchback descent and over the river into Marlow.
Then on to Henley where the river is crossed yet again and follows a loop down via Wargrave and Twyford.
Starting point: Dish Café, East Molesey.
Suggested café: H’Artisan, Wargrave (69km).
