London Dynamo prides itself on being a vibrant and inclusive cycling club, committed to fostering a diverse and welcoming community. We have an active Juniors Cycling Club section for male and female riders, aged 14-17 years.
We provide a supportive atmosphere, encouraging younger riders to increase their skills and capabilities. We offer a range of rides throughout the year, primarily at weekends, but with additional options during holiday periods. During the summer months we run a series of coached sessions, run by qualified British Cycling approved coaches, where different skill areas are focussed on.
We welcome riders of all backgrounds at varying experience levels and with a range of personal goals.
For more information or if you have any further questions, please email our Junior riders co-ordinator .
London Dynamo is a British Cycling affiliated cycling club.
Welfare and safety is of paramount importance. Junior riders are supported and encouraged by our group of identified ‘Chaperones’ who are established adult club members. The aim of the chaperone system is to ensure that a Junior is in an appropriate group for their capabilities. The Chaperone is also there to assist should a Junior rider encounter any problems, such as a mechanical issue. We ensure that parents or guardians are party to communications between the Club and Junior members.
Many of our Junior cyclists experience and enjoy racing on closed road circuits and open road races. However, racing is not a requirement and the main aim is to ensure that a Junior rider enjoys their riding and being part of our Club.
In short, no. Juniors benefit from a reduced annual membership fee, however we view the Juniors as an integral part of our club, encouraging them to join suitable social activities. Parents and guardians are advised of all such activities and are actively encouraged to participate, should they wish to do so.
Whilst many of the Juniors do try the competitive side of our sport, there is no obligation to do so. The majority of our wider membership do not race and prefer to go on training rides or social rides. The choice is yours!
All our rides will give you an opportunity to improve your riding. Most members will be happy to give you support and guidance if you ask. We encourage all riders to attend our novice race training days in the spring or summer. These training days are well worth attending even if you have no intention of racing. Throughout the summer, the club hires a British Cycling certified coach for mid-week sessions in Richmond Park which are also a great way of improving your skills and fitness.
Unfortunately we cannot accept riders under the age of 14, however we do have good relations with London based cycling clubs who do coach younger ages. We are happy to discuss and refer younger riders to them.
We are very happy to answer any questions. Please email our Juniors co-ordinator.
