LD Goes to… Cambridge

London Dynamo kicked off its inaugural "LD Goes" series with a one-way trip up to Cambridge for an idyllic pub lunch finish.

“LD Goes” is a new annual ride that aims to evoke a sense of spirit and adventure by riding somewhere different. Rather than focusing on how fast you can go, or how many kilometres you can clock up, this new series is more about sharing stories, memories and lots of laughter.

This year was LD Goes North: Cambridge Edition. Nearly all 40 slots were filled on the sign-up sheet as Dynamos showed up outside Tate Britain at 7am on Saturday 26 July. After gathering for a quick photo (see above) we headed out eastwards, through Epping and Waltham Forest, in search of quiet villages and calm country lanes.

The views were as complementary as the weather, sometimes with wheat fields stretching for what felt like forever, before the sun began to creep out from the clouds. Once members had refuelled during a quick pitstop at Vintage Style Living in Thaxted, that was all that was needed until the highly anticipated finish at The Granta in Cambridge.

Even the droplets of rain upon arrival failed to dim the high spirits and some even considered riding all the way back until the sight of the train station appeared into view.

Feedback suggests there is appetite for more rides like this – so stay tuned for where LD Goes next in 2026!
