  • We can all eat together at the Loch Maree Hotel or the Stag Restaurant at the Kinlochewe Hotel.
  • There are a also a number of seafood and other restaurants as well as a couple of lovely atmospheric pubs with stupendous views a taxi ride away.
  • The area is renowned for its wildlife. In the water it is possible to see whales (particularly minke), dolphins, porpoises, seals, sunfish and basking sharks. On land there are deer, otters and pine martens. In the air, the area has several species of eagles and many seabirds.

  • Midges: ‘Scotland’s air force’ are always out in force in summer in the Western Highlands. Depending on the depth of the winter, May should not be too bad. While they can be a nuisance if walking or camping, especially at dawn or dusk, they won’t bother you cycling – they can’t handle any kind of wind turbulence – and unlike mosquitoes they don’t come into buildings. Any commercial midge repellent would be effective.

Unforgettable Memories

One of our most exciting events of 2025 was our London Dynamo Sportive in Ljubljana, Slovenia. The club Sportive, a key part of our annual calendar, was organised around the Maraton Franja on Sunday, 15 June 2025.

We had a fantastic turnout – a group of 66 members headed to Slovenia with many members are also taking the opportunity to extend their stay and explore the beautiful city of Ljubljana and the stunning landscapes of Slovenia.

It’s not just about the cycling – it’s about making the most of everything the destination has to offer.

The Maraton Franja Challenge

The Maraton Franja is one of the most well-known cycling events in the region, and London Dynamo were right in the heart of it. This year, 43 of our members took on the challenge of the Maratona Franja – a thrilling and rewarding race that was both challenging and fun.

Historical Club Sportives

In previous years, the club has organised Sportives to the following locations/events: Maraton Franja (2025), L’Ariegeoise (2024), Nove Colli (2023 & 2011), Time Megeve Mont Blanc (2022 & 2010), Gran Fondo Squali (2019) Girona (2018), Mont Ventoux (2017), Morzine (2016), Granfondo Stelvio Santini (2015), La Vaujany (2014), Cingle de Ventoux (2013), L’Ardechoise (2012), Morzine Vallee du Alpe (2009), Gran Fondon Pinarello (2008), and Beaumes de Venise Mont Ventoux (2007).
