A scenic Kent cycling route down to Chiddingstone

  • Highlights: Clark’s Lane descent, Brasted Chart, the village of Chiddingtone, Ide Hill climb

The Bough Beech Loop cycling route crosses two ridges of the Downs, first over Biggin Hill via the Beddlestead and then the Brasted Chart climb over Toys Hill before heading to Chiddingstone. The return return passes through Bough Beech reservoir and up Ide Hill to the stunning views at the top.

Suggested Café: Tulip Café, Chiddingstone (49 km).

Frensham Pond Loop

The Frensham Pond cycling route in the Surrey Hills heads out to the heathland and ponds beyond Guildford. After one large climb up Staple Lane to the Shere Woodlands the route turns away from the hills and begins a rolling route. Looping wide of Guildford, it heads through heathland to the area south of Godalming. From there it takes a loop around the ponds at Frensham.
