About this route

This route was designed by the organisers of the Sussex Surrey Scramble, Wiggle and UK Cycling Events, not by London Dynamo.

Sportive routes change from year to year, and this page follows the 2013 Epic route. The Sussex Surrey Scramble was part of the Wiggle Super Series and is no longer run.

On the route

The Sussex Surrey Scramble was a Wiggle Super Series sportive based at Brinsbury College, near Pulborough. Its roads run through the Low Weald between the North and South Downs, country the organisers described in earlier years as lumpy rather than vastly hilly.

The route measures 161.4km with 1,811m of climbing, which gives it a Terrain label of Hilly. Its notable climbs are listed below.

This page is for riding the route outside the sportive, on your own or with friends. There are no organised feed stops, so plan your food and water for the day.

Event names and logos belong to their owners and are shown for identification only. London Dynamo is not affiliated with these events.

Notable climbs

  • Climb near 24km: 1.9km at 6% average.
  • Climb near 38km: 2.7km at 4% average.
