A Thames Valley cycling route through Windsor Great Park

Key Route Details:

  • Distance: 78km
  • Elevation Gain: 442m
  • Start/Finish: The Coppernose Café, Hampton Court, London
  • Highlights: Windsor Great Park
  • Terrain: Mostly flat

The Windsor Alternative Loop cycling route differs from the Classic Loop in that it does not come back so directly. Rather than shadowing the river by Staines, this route turns up Crimp Hill and Callow Hill for a lumpier and more scenic return journey. It rejoins the usual route at Chertsey.

Suggested café: The Cinnamon Café, Windsor Royal Station (44km).

Shoreham Loop

The Shoreham Loop cycling route initially follows the line of the Chartwell Loop but then heads further south in a loop around Hever, up through Chiddingstone, before the long climb up Hubbards Hill. Skirting around Sevenoaks, the route goes through the pretty village of Shoreham before the wooded climb up Chelfield Lane (not one to do after heavy rain) before the leg back to London.
