  • Elevation Gain: 1120m
  • Start/Finish: The Coppernose, Hampton Court, London
  • Highlights: The countryside towards Rusper.
  • Terrain: Hills

The Tanhouse & Denbies Loop cycling route in the Surrey Hills heads south out of Cobham and climbs up to White Downs and then Leith Hill.

The route then descends down into a loop towards Rusper where the route heads north back towards London via Denbies Farm and Juniper.  

Suggested café: Tanhouse Café, Tanhouse Farm (46km).

The Henry VIII Gravel Loop

The Henry VIII gravel loop extends the Chartwell loop. Rather than heading over to Chartwell and Toys Hill, it heads further south to Hever Castle (home of the Boleyns hence the route name), Chiddingstone castle & village before a steep climb up Yorks Hill and the return leg to Surrey.

The Knatt’s Valley cycling route goes a bit further east along the Pilgrim’s Way between the ridges of the Downs before turning left for a fairly steep climb up through Rowdow Wood. The route then descends into the picturesque Knatt’s Valley.

The West Wycombe Loop cycling route heads up the Thames Valley towards Marlow where it then makes a beeline to the edge of the Chilterns for a bit of climbing before the long descent back to London via Henley.

Frensham Pond Loop

The Frensham Pond cycling route in the Surrey Hills heads out to the heathland and ponds beyond Guildford. After one large climb up Staple Lane to the Shere Woodlands the route turns away from the hills and begins a rolling route. Looping wide of Guildford, it heads through heathland to the area south of Godalming. From there it takes a loop around the ponds at Frensham.
