This gravel route takes us a largely off-road route from Hampton Court Palace heading south-east out of Surrey and into Kent where it descends off the north ridge of the Downs and winds its way offroad to Churchill’s family home of Chartwell. It then heads through woods of Toys Hill before the return leg back to Surrey.

Shoreham Loop

The Shoreham Loop cycling route initially follows the line of the Chartwell Loop but then heads further south in a loop around Hever, up through Chiddingstone, before the long climb up Hubbards Hill. Skirting around Sevenoaks, the route goes through the pretty village of Shoreham before the wooded climb up Chelfield Lane (not one to do after heavy rain) before the leg back to London.

This London to Brighton one-way cycling route starts from Clapham Old Town and then follows the official London-Brighton route, ploughing straight through South London, on through the heart of Sussex before the steep climb up Ditching Beacon and very fast descent down to the coast.
