Hever Loop

A more challenging Kent cycling route

Key Route Details

  • Distance: 99km
  • Elevation Gain: 1402m
  • Start/Finish: Gail’s Bakery, Clapham Old Town, London
  • Highlights: Clark’s lane descent, Ide Hill descent, the village of Chiddingstone, full Toys Hill climb
  • Terrain: Hills (moderately challenging)

The Hever Loop cycling route is a bit more challenging than the loop via Bough Beech. Instead of going south over Toys Hill and north over Ide Hill, it does the reverse. This allows for the exhilarating Ide Hill descent and, after a Chiddingstone stop and a loop around Hever Castle, climbing the more challenging north side of Toys Hill, and another great descent down Brasted Chart.

Suggested Café: Tulip Café, Chiddingstone (49 km).
