London to Cambridge

This London to Cambridge one-way cycling route is fast, fairly flat, ride leaving London via the City, through Epping Forest before heading into the stunning countryside of rural Essex and Cambridgeshire.

Starting point: Tate Britain, Vauxhall Bridge, London.

Suggested coffee stop: Vintage Style Living, Thaxted (73 km)

Suggested lunch stop: The Granta, Cambridge

Return by train to St. Pancras, Kings Cross or Liverpool Street, London.

The Hever Loop cycling route is a bit more challenging than the loop via Bough Beech. Instead of going south over Toys Hill and north over Ide Hill, it does the reverse. This allows for the exhilarating Ide Hill descent and, after a Chiddingstone stop and a loop around Hever Castle, climbing the more challenging north side of Toys Hill, and another great descent down Brasted Chart.

Chartwell Gravel Loop

This gravel route takes us a largely off-road route from Hampton Court Palace heading south-east out of Surrey and into Kent where it descends off the north ridge of the Downs and winds its way offroad to Churchill’s family home of Chartwell. It then heads through woods of Toys Hill before the return leg back to Surrey.
